Human Resources Advisor, Distribution Center and Warehouses

The Human Resources (HR) Advisor, Distribution Center and Warehouses, is a generalist role responsible for supporting the distribution center and warehouse operational teams with respect to employee labor relations, health and safety, engagement, planning as well as skills development and training. As a partner of the management team, the HR Advisor will be successful thanks to his collaborative approach, to advise and guide the managers of the company by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to support their development as a managers.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide human resources advice and guidance to managers and employees and act as the first point of contact for distribution center and warehouse inquiries related to HR questions;
- Respond to employee complaints and concerns;
- Manage daily employee relations, engagement and planning of personnel needs;
- Coaching to improve performance and management coaching;
- Manage health and safety complaints and support health and safety committees during their meetings and in implementing actions;
- Monitor health and safety statistics;
- Participate in the onboarding process for new employees and conduct onboarding, retention and exit interviews for distribution center and warehouse employees;
- Ensure that teams work in accordance with company human resources guidelines;
- Manage company policies and procedures, including developing and communicating policies to ensure they comply with all aspects of Canadian provincial laws and are consistent across the company. business;
- Participate in HR projects and company projects;
- Maintain and update the HR management system to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date;
- Perform related administrative tasks and participate in the improvement of internal processes.
Job Requirements
- A university degree in human resources, industrial relations or a related program is required.
- At least five years of experience as a human resources generalist, ideally in a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing environment.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of provincial laws and regulations, including labor standards, human rights and labor relations laws.
- Mandatory experience in employee relations and labor relations.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural and action-oriented environment.
- Experience in change management is an asset, ideally someone who has led a team through significant changes and successfully maintained employee engagement.
- Demonstrated excellence in conflict management and problem-solving ability.
- High integrity and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and sensitive employee relations issues in a professional manner.
- High energy level, motivated, results-oriented, creative, innovative and flexible.
- Experience working effectively with people at all levels of the organization and responsible for all aspects of the role, from daily administrative tasks to strategic planning.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Curiosity and the desire to make an important contribution within a growing company.
- The candidate will be based at the distribution center and will occasionally have to travel the short distances between the distribution center and the various warehouses in Montreal.
- Bilingualism (oral and written) - French and English are required.
