Developer, Power BI

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced hybrid profile capable of combining:
•    Advanced expertise in Power BI development (modeling, DAX, performance, governance),
•    Strong business analysis skills in BI (requirements analysis, workshops, documentation).
This person will play a key role in the success of our analytical products by acting as a liaison between business teams and the BI team, while developing high-quality Power BI reports and data models.

Key Accountabilities

•    Lead workshops with stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Logistics, etc.) to understand and formalize analytical needs.
•    Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications (wireframes, data dictionaries, transformation rules, metrics and calculation rules, etc.).
•    Play an active role in BI governance: consistency, standardization, data quality and integrity.
•    Design, develop, and optimize Power BI data models (Direct Lake, Import, DirectQuery).
•    Develop interactive, high-performing, and visually consistent reports that comply with internal standards.
•    Provide support for reports and dashboards.
•    Adhere to best practices regarding security, RLS, performance, etc.
•    Act as the primary point of contact between the BI team and business departments.
•    Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI standards, templates, processes, and best practices.
•    Define and maintain functional and technical documentation for BI solutions.

Job Requirements

•    Minimum 5–7 years of experience in BI.
•    At least 3 years of experience in advanced Power BI development.
•    Significant experience as a BI business analyst.
•    Knowledge of the retail or manufacturing sector (asset).
•    Experience in a SAP environment (strong asset).
•    Advanced expertise in Power BI.
•    Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Notebooks, Dataflows, Pipelines, Lakehouse (major asset).
•    Mastery of star schema modeling and medallion architecture.
•    Proven experience in functional analysis, requirements gathering, workshops, UAT.
•    Excellent documentation skills.
•    Strong understanding of BI architectures and data warehouses.
•    Ability to understand source tables, data flows, conceptual and logical models.
•    Intermediate or advanced SQL (an asset).
•    Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
•    Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and contexts simultaneously.
