Job Summary

We are seeking a Linux Administrator to ensure continuity of the responsibilities currently handled within the Unix team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the operation, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, while supporting critical infrastructure initiatives such as RHEL upgrades, Ansible automation, integration with monitoring tools, and support for cloud and SAP environments hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Key Accountabilities

  • Administer, maintain, and evolve the company's Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Unix environments, including lab, development, QA, and production environments;
  • Actively participate in server upgrade, migration, and standardization projects, including the analysis of supported RHEL versions, Red Hat lifecycle management, and operational risks;
  • Manage Linux server subscriptions, registration, compliance, and lifecycle using Red Hat Satellite and associated Red Hat tools;
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform, including inventories, job templates, workflows, and playbooks used for Unix operations;
  • Ensure integration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Linux servers using monitoring tools such as Nagios XI and SolarWinds;
  • Provide advanced technical support for Unix/Linux platform incidents and issues, including escalations with vendors such as Red Hat, Google, Lenovo, Commvault, and SolarWinds;
  • Contribute to the support of Linux environments on GCP, including capacity planning, network configuration, instance startup issues, disk management, and coordination with application teams and vendors;
  • Document technical procedures, operational guides, knowledge base articles, deployment steps, standard configurations, and operational handover processes; and 
  • Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Systems, Network, Cybersecurity, Project Delivery, Store Support teams, and external vendors to ensure the stability and ongoing evolution of Unix/Linux platforms.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Unix systems in an enterprise environment; 
  • Strong knowledge of RHEL, Red Hat lifecycle management, patch management, subscriptions, and Red Hat Satellite;
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including playbooks, workflows, inventories, roles, variables, and operational automation;
  • Ability to automate tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools;
  • Experience with virtualized and cloud environments, particularly VMware and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is considered a strong asset;
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and security tools such as SolarWinds and Nagios XI is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with Linux containers, Podman, NVIDIA drivers, or retail store application environments is considered an asset;
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, open and track vendor support cases, document findings, and recommend solutions;
  • Excellent technical documentation, knowledge transfer, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; and
  • Strong sense of autonomy, attention to detail, technical curiosity, prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
